Stolen Vehicle Discovered After Being Taken To Mexico Border With 2 Children Inside

2 Children Discovered In Stolen Vehicle

San Diego, CA, On Monday a vehicle that had been stolen was located driving towards the US and Mexico border.  The vehicle had two children in it at the time of its theft.  According to San Diego police, the children’s father parked the Hyundai near a business in the 200 block of Euclid Ave, leaving his 8 year old girl and 3 year old boy inside with the AC and engine running.

While the man was inside the store, a witness watched a woman get into the car and then drive away, WITH the children still inside.  The father reportedly called authorities and the 8 year old girl inside the vehicle was also able to phone 911 for help.

The suspect, Esparanza Saenz, 26, was taken into custody by police when Chula Vista Police and Border Patrol worked together to track down the vehicle.

Saenz was attempting to drive the vehicle WITH the children inside across the border into Mexico.
