Private School Begins Teaching Students How To “Swarm” An Active Shooter

In the aftermath of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, last Wednesday, schools and state legislatures around the country are struggling with the idea of how to better protect students in the classroom.

Recently President Donald Trump has teetered with the idea of arming and training school teachers on how to use firearms in the classroom in the event of an active shooter on campus.

More than 5 years before the mass shooting in Florida, one New Mexico school superintendent took a different approach in preparing his school for potential gun violence.
