Tax Agent Accused Of Raping Intern At Gunpoint
IRS Tax Agent, James Clarke is accused of raping an intern at gunpoint. The prosecution claims that Clarke invited a 21 year old intern for drinks, and proceeded to buy her “enough drinks to intoxicate her”.
Clarke’s lawyer informed the court on Thursday during his arraignment that the incident was consensual.
Clarke is an IRS agent in the criminal investigations office located in Boston, MA. He pleaded not guilty to rape, aggravated rape, indecent assault and battery, strangulation, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Prosecutors state the the incident went as followed-
” [Clarke] Handcuffed the 21-year-old victim while parked in his IRS-owned vehicle in the Government Center garage, assaulted her with his service firearm, and subjected her to sexual acts against her will”, said Jake Wark, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office
“One additional assaultive act occurred in the car outside South Station after Clarke had driven the victim there,” Mr Wark’s statement said.
The assaulted woman was then left at South Station, where she called authorities and was taken to a hospital.
